3–4 October 2026 | Avalon
This October long weekend, Avalon will come alive with the inaugural Avalon Groove Festival, a two-day celebration of blues, soul and groove music featuring 16 acts and more than 50 musicians from across Australia.
Created by a group of local volunteer musicians, the festival was born from a desire to bring fresh energy to Avalon and support the local community during a challenging time for hospitality and small businesses.
Headliners include acclaimed blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Ray Beadle, powerhouse soul vocalist Bek Jensen, internationally acclaimed jazz violinist and vocalist George Washingmachine, and renowned keyboardist and vocalist Rick Melick, whose career has included seven years touring with US blues legend Joe Bonamassa and performances alongside artists including Eric Clapton, B.B. King and Beth Hart.
The festival will take place at the Avalon Cinema & Entertainment Centre, a much-loved local venue with a hidden stage dating back to the 1960s and 70s. Audiences can enjoy the music alongside food and drinks from Love Food Kitchen, which will be supporting the event throughout the weekend.
Tickets are limited, with only 200 available to ensure an intimate experience. Every dollar from ticket sales goes directly to the musicians, while the festival itself is being delivered by a team of volunteers.
Come and enjoy two days of quality live music, good food and community spirit, right in the heart of Avalon.
