Parking next to the park is limited; there's a larger carpark at James Meehan Reserve. Parking is free with a Northern Beaches Council permit, pay and display otherwise. Designated disabled spaces are available.

The Michaela Howie Playground looks out over Dee Why Beach from Ted Jackson Reserve. A 2025 renewal brought two swing sets with standard and toddler seats, two play structures with a slide, platform, climbing frames and a fireman's pole.

Locals asked for a beachy feel and got it: a boat for imaginary voyages, a fishing rod and a friendly dolphin. New benches and shade keep carers comfortable, and BBQs and picnic tables are close by.

The playground honours Michaela Howie, a young local girl who lost her life in an accident. It's enclosed and sized for younger kids, which makes it an easy pick before a dip at the rockpool.
