If you think Mona Vale Golf Club is just for golfers, think again. Yes, the course is stunning, but this place is just as much about alfresco dining, cold drinks, and catching up with mates as it is about fairways and flags. It’s a special local spot that ticks all the we-have-nailed-our-venue boxes. Grab a spritz and settle in.

Pull up to Mona Vale Golf Club and you’ll quickly realise the views do a lot of the heavy lifting here. At the end of Golf Avenue, on top of the hill, the clubhouse offers front-row seats to Warriewood Headland, rolling green fairways, ocean views, and even the odd paraglider or whale splash. Want a closer look? There’s a telescope on the deck.
The recently renovated clubhouse, now celebrating its one-year milestone, is like a warm hug. Whether you're soaking up the winter sun or staying cosy inside with panoramic views, there’s no such thing as a bad seat in this house.
Mona Vale Golf Club has been around since 1927, when a few locals decided to build a course with whatever gear they could get their hands on, including a tent for a clubhouse. It’s grown a lot since then, but that undeniable community spirit is still at the heart of the club. This is one local club that’s not exclusive, and it’s not intimidating. It’s easygoing, everyone’s welcome, and you don’t need to be a member to enjoy it all. (Although members do get great perks and food and beverage discounts.)

Gather Here, Stay a While
There’s alfresco dining, and then there’s this. With photo-worthy views all day long, the deck here is the kind of place you’ll slip into lunch and stay for sunset. The eatery is open daily from 6:30 am to 3 pm, and dinner’s on from 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday to Sunday, with drinks available well into the evening.
Breakfast and lunch are a relaxed affair, with classics like the Loaded Bacon and Egg Roll with hash brown or the Avo Feta on Toast topped with cherry tomatoes. Grab a wrap for lunch or one of the most mouth-watering burgers on The Beaches. Whether you're fueling up before a round or unwinding afterwards, there’s loads to choose from.
And dinner hits that sweet spot between casual and considered, from chicken wings and seared scallops for starters to pizza, pasta, and rump steak. If you’re planning a birthday bash, a breezy lunch, or a catch up with mates, MVGC has everything you need.
Live music rolls in on the second Saturday of every month, from 4 pm to 6 pm, usually a laid-back duo on the deck with an unbeatable backdrop. There’s also a Friday night meat raffle, supporting the Junior Golf Development Program or local causes like the Biggest Morning Tea.

Everyday’s a Play Day
OK team, let’s talk golf. For players, the Par 72 championship course is as rewarding as it is beautiful with coastal and parkland holes that keep things interesting for all skill levels. Get ready for perceptive par 3s, challenging par 4s, and those long par 5s. Whether you’re chasing a low handicap or just starting out, it’s the kind of course you’ll want to play again and again.
Interested in joining? The women’s 6-day membership still has spots (but not for long), and there’s a great Monday to Tuesday beginner golf program if you're keen to get into the game.
Golf might be a solo sport on paper, but at Mona Vale, it’s a village effort, especially when it comes to juniors. Under the guidance of Junior Development Officer Will Ubrihien, young players progress through a thoughtful Player Pathway that grows with them: from Rookies to Players to the Junior Elite Team (JET). Along the way, kids not only learn how to swing a club, but how to carry themselves with discipline, patience, and sportsmanship. Golf here isn’t just a game. It’s a gentle but powerful way to build life skills.
Whether you’re here to swing a club, sip a wine, or watch a whale, you can do it all here, and maybe in the same afternoon.
Unpretentious, inviting, and full of heart, you’ll come here once and return often.
