Northern Beaches Council is inviting residents, businesses, and stakeholders to provide feedback on the Draft Northern Beaches Events Strategy 2026 - 2035.
The Strategy is a 10-year outlook ensuring events engage and connect people and places, promote environmental sustainability and drive a vibrant visitor economy. It covers events delivered and supported by Council, including recipients of the Events Grants and Sponsorship Program.
Mayor Sue Heins highlighted the reason to have an overarching Strategy for delivering and supporting events for everyone across the Northern Beaches.
“At the heart of the Strategy is a commitment to enhancing social connection and inclusion and activating public spaces with cultural and creative events that drive economic and tourism benefits for the local community.
“Every year, Council hosts more than 40 large scale events catering to approximately 130,000 people and some 300 smaller events where thousand more people connect at our Libraries, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Glen Street Theatre, Waste Education and even the Aquatic Centres.
“Events like the Christmas Carols, Manly Jazz and Pittwater Ocean Swim Series have always played a huge role in making the Northern Beaches a fantastic place to live, work and play.
“This Strategy builds on our strengths and your feedback will ensure our events continue to bring people together and celebrate what’s unique about the Northern Beaches.” Mayor Heins said.
The community is encouraged to review the Strategy and share their views on the Your Say page. All input will be considered in finalising the Strategy, which will be presented to Council in 2026.
