Northern Beaches Youth Theatre proudly presents its inaugural Young Adult Short Play Festival; a bold new platform amplifying the voices, stories, and imaginations of emerging artists aged 15–25. As a not-for-profit organisation, NBYT is expanding beyond its traditional 12–17 programming to meet the growing creative needs of young adults in our community. This festival marks an exciting new chapter: empowering youth to take the lead as writers, directors, performers, and storytellers.
Committed to safe spaces, youth-led processes, and authentic creative ownership, we celebrate a season of youth-devised and youth-driven work. Across two performances at 2pm and 6pm on January 31st in the Mona Vale Performance Space, audiences will encounter an extraordinary collection of original short plays that explore grief, absurdity, identity, humour, growing up, and the beautiful chaos of being human.
This year’s featured works include:
The Lost Sock Depository (Dir. Hamish Thornton | Writer: Emily Thornton)
A Minor Offence (Dir. & Writer: Alice Minnock)
How Do You Grieve Yourself (Dir. Eva Schreiber | Writer: Katherine Taylor)
