Rebound Health: Unlocking Kids’ Potential with OT

We all want the best for our kids—to see them thrive, feel confident, and navigate daily life with ease. Challenges at school, in social settings or with emotions can make that harder. That’s where Rebound Health’s expert Occupational Therapists come in, helping children build essential skills to succeed.

What Is an OT?
Occupational Therapists (OTs) are specialists trained to help people of all ages develop the skills necessary to perform everyday activities. For children, OTs work to enhance skills in key areas such as fine motor coordination, focus, emotional regulation, and social skills. Through fun, engaging activities, OTs help children build confidence and independence, setting them up for success both in and outside of the classroom.

How Does Occupational Therapy Help Your Child?
Handwriting: Handwriting is a crucial skill for school success. OTs work on improving fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to help kids write clearly and confidently.
Attention and Focus: They also help implement strategies to keep kids engaged and focused so they can stay on track during lessons and complete tasks with ease.
Emotional Regulation: School can be a whirlwind of emotions. OTs teach kids how to recognise and manage their feelings, helping them stay calm and focused during the ups and downs of the school day.
Social Skills: Making friends and working in teams are key to school life. OTs teach kids essential social skills like communication, sharing and problem-solving, giving them the confidence to interact and form positive relationships.

At Rebound Health, the goal is simple: to equip kids with the skills they need for a successful, confident school experience. With the help of their expert OTs, your child can excel in school!

Meet the Occupational Therapy Team

Veronica Dias
I have six years of experience working with children with ADHD, autism and developmental impairments, as well as adults with mental health disorders and geriatric conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. I love being an OT because it allows me to contribute creatively and meaningfully, helping clients achieve stability and independence. Witnessing their progress and knowing I’ve played a role in their wellbeing is rewarding.

Hannah Speed
As a new graduate OT, I’ve gained experience working with people of all ages across diverse settings, including paediatrics, community care, rehabilitation and hospital environments. I have a special interest in neurological conditions, particularly upper limb rehabilitation. I’m passionate about occupational therapy’s client-led approach, using creative, inclusive, and holistic strategies to help people live enriched, meaningful lives.

Nikki Chewgyn
As an occupational therapist, I help individuals of all ages perform everyday tasks essential for their wellbeing and independence, such as dressing, cooking, work, school, hygiene and hobbies. I support people in adapting to challenges and achieving their goals. I love being an OT and making a difference in people’s lives. I work with clients ranging from five years to seniors, including those with ASD, ADHD, learning and emotional difficulties.

Emma Peake
Becoming an Occupational Therapist was a natural choice for me, driven by my deep desire to help and connect with others. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients aged three to 103 in diverse settings, including inpatient neurorehabilitation, palliative care, aged care and community-based environments. I find immense fulfilment helping clients add life to their days, not just days to their life. “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”

Becca Roberts
I have extensive experience in mental health, working in community outreach, inpatient care, prisons and private practice. I’ve supported individuals with conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. Recently, I’ve developed a particular interest in ADHD. I love being an OT because each day brings something new, and I get to help people build the skills and confidence needed for independent, fulfilling lives.

The team at Rebound Health is second to none. With a reputation that attracts the best in the biz, each OT is a powerhouse in their field, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to every session.
