Walk through the doors of Sôlt Haus and you’re invited to trade the frenetic pace of Mona Vale village for simplicity, clarity, and ritual rooted in nature’s elements: salt, heat, and light.
The studio is home to three state-of-the-art full-spectrum infrared saunas which incorporate the latest innovation in halotherapy. That’s “salt therapy” for those new to the practice!
The unique Salt Sauna set-up offers a plethora of benefits for body and mind. Infrared heat between 40–60 degrees aids muscle recovery, supports detoxification and weight loss, boosts circulation, and stimulates the lymphatic system.
“The gentle intensity of infrared heat works deep into tired muscles and joints, making it a favourite for those recovering after exercise, managing chronic pain or stiffness, or just seeking relaxation,” says Jen.
At the same time, salt infusion cleanses the respiratory system and clears skin conditions.
“Salt is naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory,” explains Jen. “In supporting the lungs and soothing the skin, it’s a great way to restore the body after the wet winter we’ve had.”
Another upside of the salt sauna experience is its effect on the mind. “When we boost the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems, it opens the airways and allows us to breathe a little easier. Combined with infrared heat that relaxes the body, the overall effect is a calmer state of being that lasts long after a session.”
For those looking for an extra glow, the Salt Facial is a natural extension of the sauna ritual. The treatment begins with a gentle, mineral-rich salt exfoliation to remove impurities and stimulate collagen production. LED infrared light therapy is then incorporated, known to reduce redness, smooth fine lines, and even skin tone. Finished with a restorative mask and hydrating serums, it leaves skin luminous, refreshed, and naturally radiant.
“I wanted to create a non-invasive treatment that is equally rejuvenating as relaxing,” Jen says. “This is skincare that you feel good about.”
The Sôlt Haus experience starts as soon as you walk through the door. Complementary filtered water and towels are provided, and a curated range of products are available to take home.
The interiors are also worthy of a mention. “When designing the studio, I wanted to create a space that embodies the Sôlt Haus ethos,” says Jen. “I have always been inspired by the Nordic countries. It’s the quiet social intimacy of their sauna culture and the calming earthy tones of their forests. By sheer serendipity, I discovered I have Nordic roots shortly after opening the studio doors!”
In addressing the question everyone always asks, Jen says she purposely omitted showers. The simple reason is that science suggests showering should be delayed until the body has naturally cooled down, which is usually around 30–60 minutes after a session.
Sôlt Haus has carved out its own space in the “wellness” industry, one that hits the golden trifactor of relaxation, recovery and rejuvenation; yet it’s a humble space where wellness feels accessible, natural, and truly restorative. From the tranquil interiors to the uniquely designed treatments, every detail has been carefully considered and reflects a commitment to slow simplicity.
